Hi Berneta, I am divorced since my boys were 5 yrs and 2 yrs respectively. When my eldest boy Graeme was just 18yr my ex husband John died apparently from self neglect. T brought up my boys Graeme and Michael myself and then we had to arrange John's funeral as Graeme had attained age of responsibility here. Graeme will be 34 yr on his birthday in July while Michael is 3i yr and he is born on 31 Dec. Both boys live at home with me, Michael works for Civil Service as an exec. officer and Graeme returned to study at Ulster University as mature student and this is his final year he is doing degree in computer science and engineering.

At times house is a bit muddled but we are happy and each do our own thing. Good you have the company of your husband and I hope you are enjoying using the treadmill. I have some good workout DVDs which I enjoy doing sometimes. Keep well Sheila

Hi Jackyk, I seem to find the pro point plan easier than the old way..I am careful about what I eat but I have got myself a special calculator from weight watchers and it calculates the pro points from the Protein, Carbs. Fat and Fibre content in all that I eat. I do sometimes feel like snacking but then can count what points I have used. I have 29 pro points each day and it is possible to eat well within these points. I can eat fruit and vegetables without using my point allowance.

I had to take losing weight seriously because of sleep apnea, high blood pressure and the 2 full hip replacements but my health is very good at the present time.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Sparticus, I am afraid you are doing it wrong, men can have extra pro points than the ladies but not an excessive number like you. You must be joking.

            Pro Points

Hi Sheila, Sparticus said he's doing donuts. LOL Something I absolutely love-- and part of the reason I gained a stone over the holidays. That-- and the fact that I could barely walk at that time because of the torn ligaments in my foot and ankle-- so couldn't do much cooking. And the hubby was bringing home ready made meals like Pizza, Fried Chicken, Cheeseburgers, Fish and Chips--Christmas Candies and Pastries, etc. Now I get to walk that all off. And eat a lot of salads and veggies. It was 68* F here today, and the snow is all about gone. The Wild Geese have been flying over all day. Making me think of Roast Goose. Dieting is the hardest thing I do--points or no points. I just love the hunt-the chase-and the feast. Should have been born a Wolf. Keep up the good work, with your health program, and wish me luck! xx Berneta

Hi Berneta, I am sure you will enjoy using the treadmill. Sparticus will have to do lots of exercise to work off those doughnuts, although men need to eat more than women. Good luck with the weight loss we just have to keep at it. Regards Sheila

                    Larger Lady

Well you just shocked me Graham, That pic of the Larger Lady could pass for me 35 years ago. Age is not kind to most of us. ITS the bane of life, Yet with age also comes some wisdom---but maybe we just have to get past the beauty of youth to attain it. I agree that I do not consider runway models to be icons of beauty--but they appeal so much because they show off the clothes, and not the curves. Hope you do get back in shape, so you can climb those mountains without falling off. Now when all is said and done--I am not sure that we shouldn't just put a CPAP in a pic surrounded by puppies and kittens. But I wonder who will pick the picture for the album cover? Maybe that is something we should all vote on! I love to vote on things. xx Berneta

                            Treadmill

Hi Everyone, Well I did 10 minutes on the treadmill today--at a very slow walk. Thought I should take it easy, as I am still getting some pains in my foot and ankle from the torn ligaments. So I mean it was a very slow 10 minutes--thought I would DIE. LOL. I haven't done much walking since Oct-- when I tore my foot up. I am really out of shape. But at the same time the treadmill said I was doing ok--it has a thingy that attaches to me to read out heartbeat etc. I will keep it on slow for awhile, and gradually add time and speed. And increase the number of times a day I use it. Hoping to drop at least a stone over the next two months. I will have to see how it goes. I was sure glad to have the treadmill today, because the wind was blowing a cold rain all day. And its raining now tonight. When late Spring and warm weather arrives, I will have the guys set up the swimming pool--so I can do some swimming. Its about 30 ft wide and 4 ft deep. A lady friend gave it to us when she joined the Army, and we have not used it yet. I am determined to get back in shape and lose some weight. I'll have to order my hubby not to bring home any doughnuts! LOL. More low carb foods, fruit and veggies. I am really watching my carb intake, and my sugar level was 117 when I got up this morning, and stayed good all day. That is the first time its been that low in the morning--usually it about 130. I am hoping the benefits of the CPAP will help me along! I have to admit I am feeling great--not tired at all. Just taking it easy on the ankle. Hope everyone dieting is doing well. X Berneta

                              Seefood Diet!

My SEEFOOD Diet is still on track, I only had about 6000 cals yesterday, I reckon I will peak around the 16stone mark before I get to grips with it and start to bring to back down to around 11 stone. The main thing about me is "I'm a NON-SMOKER" Its 6 weeks today since I lit one up seems a lifetime ago and I dont even miss them

                                See Food Diet

Hi Graham, please believe me when I say that the "SEE FOOD AND EAT IT DIET" can get out of hand-- and the first thing you know is that FOOD takes the place of cigs. (As a retired Nurse's Aide I have seen that happen) Do you have any hobbies (other than Climbing) that you can do? Food is not a good trade off. Eventually you will find that the food becomes the habit--then you gain more and its harder to take the weight off. FAT doesn't turn to muscle and it doesn't keep you toned up. If you are well toned a little fat to burn during a workout or climbing might give you some extra energy though. Just don't let it get out of hand-- or I'll come over there and throw doughnuts at you! Struggling to lose weight and tone up is not a funny thing to most of us--and it gets harder as we age. 6000 calories a day? Tell me you are joking please. Monday's are bad enough! xxxBerneta
