I've been using the FX for nearly a year now and it definitely seems to be working as the only thing I have had to do is replace the soft face part as the first one split. I've also been promoted to use a humidifier now! A bit too soon to know if that's going to do anything but I will keep the forum posted on this.

Been thinking about caterpillar's problem with the straps loosing their stick, and was wondering that there might be a conflict with the bedding fabric. There are some fabrics that love Velcro so much they cannot be parted from each other, and like those sticky rollers for removing lint from clothes they loose their stickiness very quickly.

Ive been using the same head gear for 3 years now and its still going strong, maybe it is the fabric of the bedclothes.

Just been to the hospital and they have provided me with a new soft face part and a new head gear, the nurse says the strap problems could be down to me washing it to often or the water has been to hot. To me its still the best mask I have tried, and I have called it Kylie, so every night I put it on Kylie gives me a big kiss , got to have a laugh these days.

Are you aware that the best headgear to use with a Quattro FX is from a Quattro but use a size smaller. Eliminates stretching and velcro curl.

I'm pretty sure the Quattro's headgear is the standard ResMed Headgear that they use for a few different masks (it isn't specific to the Quattro) - is this the one you're using TF? It will most likely have one of the following codes on if so; 16118, 16733 or 16119.

As you seek to complicate things - the headgear I used last night says, "Headgear Medium" on the label at the back - as does the headgear on next week's mask - as does the brand new headgear in the drawer near an empty plastic bag marked 16733. Draw your own conclusions!

I ask for a medium headgear for a Quattro mask and have always got what I wanted (eventually! it seems a difficult thing for my clinic to supply a large Quattro FX mask and a medium Quattro headgear. Tip: write it down for them!).

Soapbox: why do Resmed still persist in insisting on supplying all masks with a medium headgear?

So yes, this would be the headgear you suggest: ResMed Headgear.

I've no idea why they always include medium headgear regardless of mask size, it causes a great deal of confusion. It would be logical that those with smaller faces, and need a small mask, would therefore usually have a smaller head, and need small headgear. But no, ResMed just include a medium headgear with all masks.

I've lost count of how many calls we have from people ringing up saying "I bought a large and you've sent a medium!" and having to explain that the headgear is medium, but the mask is large. Very confusing for all parties!

EDIT: The Extra Small Mirage Quattro actually does come with small headgear, but all other sizes have medium.
