      Hello Berneta,
It is good you have started using the treadmill, just take it easy and gradually increase speed and difficulty. I go to the local leisure center about three times a week and use the treadmill each time, I am working on my balance and can now walk or slightly jog at about 4.5 mph at level 6. I think the treadmill and eating more fruit and veg. will help me to lose some weight, I feel I am walking better already but I have more weight to shed.

It must be tough to give up smoking but I have never smoked.

      Good luck. Sheila.

        Getting better!

Hi--I am increasing my speed on the treadmill slightly, and getting on ok. The ankle isn't bothering me as much as I thought it would. Don't know how fast it will go--but it starts out at 4.5 and I have to slow it way down. I could just see me flying off the end of it, and ending up sitting in the chair by the closet. LOL So I am being very very careful, and putting on the safety key-- before I ever start it up. I had a treadmill that I borrowed from my oldest son years ago--but gave it back to him when we moved here 7 years ago. Just didn't want the hassel of moving it too. Then for a few years I just walked around outside. Now I am glad to have a treadmill again. And this one is quiet. The old one sounded like a saw grinding. LOL Its supposed to freeze rain then snow tonight and tomorrow. Not a lot--only about 6 inches of it--and it should melt pretty fast. Going to weigh myself tonight, and program that into the treadmill--then it can tell me how much weight I am losing along with the temp, calories, speed, distance, heart beat, etc. I think I will do better and be more inclined to keep on it longer, if I can see that weight going down! So far-- my nights with the CPAP haven't shown any changes. Sleeping well for a good 8 hours. Hope everyone is doing ok with the dieting and cpaps. xBerneta
