Does anyone else know how long it takes to get back to normal after a night without cpap?

If I decide not to wear my mask for 1 night it will take me a further 5 nights of sleep to return to normal patterns. It just goes to show what effect not wearing your mask can have on your body so please dont worry if you start falling asleep even though your wearing your mask again after a night off.

Has anyone else timed there recovery?

    How Long

Hi everyone, If I have to skip the mask one night entirely --it takes me about 3 nights and days to recover. Less recovery time if I can sleep at least 4 hours with the mask (as when I have a cold or flu). A restless night of just not being able to relax and sleep--waking every few hours, will cause the next day to be full of naps and fatigue. But that next night I usually sleep 12 hours to make up for it. OF course I am retired and not doing any hard labor, or taking care of children. Everything makes a difference. xBerneta

I think this is a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question

just as a quick list, here are teh factors I can think of off the top of my head as to how long it might take to recover...
          • How well rested were you before the night without the CPAP
          • How dependant are you on the CPAP for a nights sleep - light or heavy reliance
          • how suceptable are you to things like jet-lag
          • how fit and well are you at the moment

For me, without the CPAP I don't even get 5 minutes uninterupted sleep, so effectively I get no sleep on a night without CPAP, but I have done a lot of travelling and am used to jet-lag and poor nights sleep, so I can usually recover with just one or maybe two nights sleep
