Easy one for me - 9 or 10 years ago I got my CPAP machine, took to it within a couple of nights, and now I hate it if I am without it even for a night.

Still here when I scored over 50 when tested six years ago equates with success in my book, but the story is not so straightforward and am still trying to sort some niggly problems.
You just have to plug away and I wouldn't choose to be without CPAP.

        Doing Great

Started my CPAP therapy 8 months ago, and and have my AHI about as low as it will go--still have some little problems now and then--but wouldn't want to try to sleep without it. I sleep 8 or 9 hours a night, and wake feeling fine. No tiredness or napping needed in the day--unless I have caught a cold--which seldom happens. No problems with hubby--just with the cats! LOL xx Berneta

Super A+, Gone from napping part time zombie to annoyingly perky quasi human being. Been on the machine for about 13 months, cant sleep without it. When i see the oxygen bit of the safety check on aeroplanes i start to fantasize. Occasional mask troubles but it's a good'un.

Near five months for me, have tried loads of different masks but settled on a Sleepweaver with a Forma for full-face backup.

Still tweaking, my tech says I need to try and get my pmin to 11, I've just upped it to 10 which is causing me a little bloating will give it a while to get used to it. However getting an AHI under 2 every night now for the last month, 0 for last night with pressure at 10.

So success - finding it relaxing, blood pressure has fallen, am eating less and sleeping less and can stay alert into the early hours if needs be.

Of course you did it all at one time! What else would we expect from "Sparticus"--just take up the weapon, gird your loins, and go for glory! LOL xx Berneta

After 18 months and many masks I am still struggling. If I put the mask on and get to sleep - more often than not I will awaken and find I have taken it off. This has become almost automatic and unconscious behaviour when I sleep. If I wake up early mornings I can put the mask on again and get two or three hours sleep with it, but still suffer from very dry mouth (despite humidification) and bloating, despite having the machine's pressures adjusted. Sorry I can't give you a more positive response - but believe me I have tried damned hard with the thing - I don't want to discourage others - there are many success stories, but mine isn't one just yet...

Been on the hose 10 months now and last week had 4 nights of solid 7.5 hours and starting to feel good, except last night PAHH the mask was wobbling around like a lump of jelly, will have to play around with the adjustment tonight
