  • Isle of Wight Patient Day Tomorrow - March 4

Tom and I will be in Newport tomorrow, for the St Mary's Hospital CPAP Patient day. Hoping for some lovely weather! Bringing the latest gadgets, tools, accessories and masks of course.

    Any of you coming?

Not sure whether you have to be a patient there, but if you're in Hampshire, perhaps you can try and make it too (do check with the sleep clinic there first).

            Amanda,
The closest they get to the south is Oxfordshire, not exactly a 5 min drive!
Then they go for the next extreme and go too far south, that far in fact that they drop off the edge of the country!
Perhaps we should have our own somewhere sensible down here.

Feeling like that makes perfect sense. Sleep Apnoea is a hidden condition; there is no way to easily identify another person on CPAP as the treatment is hidden away in the bedroom.

I just find it very scary being told by a doctor that u stop breathing for 3 mins at a time ... i dont understand how im still here lol in some ways, it has answered some other health issues i had ... i suffer from heart palpatations quite badly for the last 3 years ... since ive been using the cpap they have lessened already ... ive put on masses of weight yet i dont eat any differently and i get out of breath very easily, this is all linked according to the sleep clinic so im just hoping i can now get my life back to normal.

                  Thanks
