I was talking to a fellow facehugger today and we got talking about machines and masks etc. I was commenting on you always get a blocked nose with your mask on and he said that he has found away round this. After he told me I thought oh, now thats a great idea. I will probably be told that this is not allowed and Im not sure if I should try it but was told it works every time. My friend puts a wee drop of vapour oil on his filter, the stuff you normally put on a hanky to help you breath. Now to me that sounds like a fantastic idea and I know that some people put smellies near there inlet so I think Im going to give this a whirl by putting a hanky with vapour oil near my inlet, any thoughts

I put some vic on a disc by my air inlet but it dodn't work anywhere near as rubbing it on your chest. The smell was so minimal that it isn't worth doing. I think that it must be heat that brings out the smell.
I saw somewhere that Olbas Oil works but I don't have any
Good luck

I wouldn't do that
It will make your filter sticky and will hold on to any amount of dust and clog it up. You will suffocate if the air can't get through! (Not really)

I did wonder about what happens if your machine goes off due to a power cut, so I tried it once, wearing my mask without air and its fine you can breath ok

No Way!
While staring at my bottle of oil I thought mmmm I will try this, so the next morning after work of I trudged to bed, got a hanky poured oil onto it and put it next to my intake. I thought I was being gassed! My eyes were streaming and I think I burnt something inside. I dont care how benefitial it is, I wont be doing that again.

the whole dreaming thing has been the most unusual and disturbing thing, in my apnoeic past I'd woken up in a panic having not been able to breathe, now I sometimes wake up due to vivid dreams - the difference now is I go back to sleep afterwards!
