Having worked in a soap factory for some years I doubt whether the lining in my nose is that good anyway. I have been doing this for nearly two years now and I have no problems with it and the clinic have said if it helps then carry on. A few drops in a full humidifier does the trick and there is no burning sensation whatsoever, also no problems with it on the hands although I do wash them after use as I would anything. It is what I do, I am not advising anyone to do it but it works for me, we all have our own choices in this life. I have been fully compliant on CPAP from the first week.

Floaty - the "oh no" referred to my personal objection to the penetrating nature of olbas oil! I find anything with a high eucalyptus concentration irritating, you're right, whatever works for the individual is right for the individual, which is where the medical profession gets it wrong so often.
Menthol is working for me this week, am going to bed quite "stuffy" but the menthol is bringing instant relief and I'm getting to sleep without having to resort to otrivine, I guess the pressure does the rest through the night (although I woke briefly after a couple of hours last night and the menthol aroma was still there!)
