I would love to try a fabric mask. I use a full face resmed quattro atm which is fine but I do get leaks and need to use mask liners.

I love this forum. Have been reading alot and learning so much. Really hoping to get my pressure right so picking up many tips here.

The only other info your getting is my AHI

tried to wing it this morning after a long nightshift by slapping the mask on while tired and half asleep. Its so different to my Quattro it doesn't feel natural, very strange feeling. After almost falling asleep trying to get this to work right without watching the DVD I slipped my old mask on and I will read up more on how to use properly. It pays to read the manual with this mask.

The DVD is good but the manual is pretty basic

              Sleepweaver Anew

I can't seem to get it to seal using the straps. There is a strip of plastic down each side of the mask and if I push on this I can get a seal. My guess is that this strip is supposed to strengthen the mask at this point and allow the bottom strap to exert some pull on the centre of the mask. Unfortunately the plastic is of such poor quality that it just bends under the pressure.

The poor quality extends to the 'quick-release' clips which are a pain to use; not a patch on the delta-type clips used by ResMed.

The mask is effectively two balloons joined together; one to cover the nose and one to cover the mouth. Unfortunately the fabric at the top of the mouth seal is curling up which makes putting the mask on more difficult. I don't know how the sizing works (I got a medium) but the distance between the bottom of the nose hole and the mouth hole is too great for me. The nose hole is also quite small. I have made the nose hole larger using a sharp pair of scissors which seems to have improved the fit but the problem above remains.

I think Circadiance still have some work to do on this mask; they may well need to put a third headgear anchor point on each side. Its a shame because I think it could be a comfortable mask and would be ideal for taking away as it packs flat. The cheap-and-nasty clips need to go too.

Thought it was just me but the clips are horrendous I have to keep taking the mask off just to find them and also the head gear is like the fx (Resmed) not sure why it cant be a conventional attachment to hold the nose section in place.

We are sorry to hear that the feedback isn't looking great for the Anew! It is a shame, because the nasal varieties were so popular, but this is exactly why we are asking for feedback to see the initial reactions to the mask.

I am sure the manufacturer will find all of your opinions very useful so thank you and do fill in and send the feedback forms to us once you have received them and used the mask for 7 nights

I think the mask is a great idea but does need tweaking here and there. Also with it being very different to what we normally use it does take some getting use to. I had 2 main concerns

                    1. The headgear needs changing, especially the clips.

                    2. The mouth and nose opening need more support so they are better defined

All in all a radical mask with great potential

I'll happily give either of these masks a trial Simone, I am bordering a large in most masks so whatever size you think would be right.

Talking of feedback I recently sent two Sleepweaver Advance masks with a note to Tom, can you ask if he received them please?

Is the ANEW the first full face sleepweaver mask? Ive heard many great things about sleepweaver and was so disappointed that I couldn't get it to work. I still haven't given up on it yet and hopefully with some tweaks I may get to wear it. Will be interesting to see how the others find it.

My answer to Question 8 was "Disappointed that I cant get the mask to work because of the bad leak at the nose"

I am having a go with a nasal for the first time, so Simone has sent me a Philps. Tried it last night and had to give up at 4 this morning. If the pipe is not in the exact place it twists the mask and blocks my nose off.

Sooooo, is this a general problem with nasals or this mask and any tips how to cure it?
