For the first time in years, new for old has gone wrong and I just don't understand why! Ive been using my mask for about a year with a change of the seal every 6 months then I thought I'd order a new mask from the clinic, which I have been doing for years but this time when I changed over it didn't feel right. They are identical and normally when you get a new mask the seal is great and off you go again for another 6 months. I cant figure out if the seal is defective or what's going on but after a week I gave up and went back to my old mask. Thankfully Intus came to my rescue but in future I will wait till I have no choice in ordering a new mask, as anyone else had this problem?

No problems with masks, but in my day job I deal with metals and firms have a nasty habit of changing the trace components of the alloys sometimes to see if it "improves" the product !!! Wonder if the plastic composition is being changed slightly with different batches. If anyone involved is reading this NICKLE AND CHROME ARE NOT good on skin !!!!!!!!!!

I worked for a company that made castrations rings. They were made out of strong latex and some times we did use to get a bad batch. maybe its down to price of ingredients and a switch to some cheaper kinds, it was strange though how different it feltOriginally posted by martin View PostNo problems with masks, but in my day job I deal with metals and firms have a nasty habit of changing the trace components of the alloys sometimes to see if it "improves" the product !!! Some silicones have an acidic acid in them to help them cure.
It may be just a seal that had not cured 100% or may have been a rouge seal or batch. Some people might not be affected, others will be sensitive to it.
It may be that the mould had been cleaned or a new mould fitted.
May even been a trace chemical on the plastic bag it was wrapped in, who will ever tell?
Anyway, glad you are sorted.
Yes, NICKLE AND CHROME ARE NOT good on skin, ever owned a nickle backed watch? I think I am right in saying that it is now banned from being used in watches parts that contact the skin.
You can still get it in watches made in some Asian countries
