Bought a SleapWeaver recently (thanks to James’s offer) and have now tried it over four nights.
As a previous full face mask user, I found it surprisingly easy to change to a nasal mask.
Fitting and adjustment were comparatively easy and the seal is good. It’s extremely comfortable and my oximeter stats show that I slept reasonably well.
BUT I have to resurrect the hose issue. Although I have the hose lying on top of my downie, whenever I turn over (which is frequently) the hose does not follow and I have to move it by hand to stop it pulling the mask sideways and causing leakage. Have tried a hose lift but this doesn’t make much difference.
As a result, I am returning to my Quattro full face, which at least allows the hose to follow my movements and gives me a good night.
Any comments on how to help the hose problems with the SleapWeaver would be most welcome.
Sorry if this merely echoes obvious things you have tried already. Have you tried a bit more loop in the hose and positioning the hose lift at various points say along the head of the bed or up and down the side you most turn towards? Hose lifts are not all the same so does yours swivel? Aside wearing PJs or a T shirt and using a velcro hose clip I can't think at present of anything else that might help.

I pulled my machine on top of me due to this (that "damp" feeling when the humidifier drops warm water on your face is nothing compared to the "clunk" of the apap hitting your skull).

Solution for me was to get a much longer hose and run it down towards my feet and then back up to the machine. I use a hose huggie cover so it's under my quilt and have not had a problem since - plenty of slack.

I have had a new issue though (which caused me to use my Forma for a few nights) in that the hose huggie slid down and the rubber end of the hose rubbed on my lip for night and caused it to be irritated and dry out / chap.

Great cure for chapped lips - full face mask and humidifier up to max.

Would be interested to learn how you solve your headgear probelms as I encountered the same thing.

Give it a few nights of getting used to, and watch the videos on the sleepweaver site when it arrives in order to minimise the leaks. I really can't recommend this mask enough, no sore nose, no mask marks and only if you sleep awkardly will you get some light marks from the headgear (got them in a hotel room this week after falling asleep face down...)

You are right, we are now offering a money-back offer on the SleepWeaver.

Basically, once you buy it, if you do not get on with it then you can return it within 30 days. Usually we are unable to accept returns for hygiene reasons but we are making an exception for the SleepWeaver - mainly because it's a mask that people are unsure about trying and don't want the gamble of buying something so different. So we're removing that gamble, and so far only a very small amount of people haven't liked it. Hopefully that won't change now so that this returns offer doesn't bankrupt us!

So if you have been umming and arring about getting one, there's certainly been no better time to do so

I have an odd shaped nose, leaks and discomfort are common across masks for me and I'm so happy the sleepweaver just works - it can be leaky but for me it's well within the acceptable range for the machine to compensate.

    Sleepweaver mask

Hi I have been reading your comments on the sleepweaver and am very tempted to invest in one I have been having trouble with other masks 1st one was painfull 2nd mask was nasal softgel it was ok put pushing into my lip so was given a nasal pillow to try swfit lt could not make it fit my nose it appears my nose bends a little out of place so went back last week to change back to softgel I mentioned to the sleep technician about other masks and mentioned the sleepweaver she told me that they are not yet proven and did not have any it appears the NHS only have a minimum of mask styles and I have tried them apart from full face mask but that would make me feel to claustrophobic only breathe through my nose. Anyway I digress should I wait now until they come up with the next generation of sleepweaver or just go for it. Only been diagnosed since September last year so still don't understand a lot about readings and graphs only attendede clinic twice next app 6 months.

I'm stocked up with masks now, got three nasal, two full face - plenty of choice and spares!
This is good advice. It is very tempting if you are stringing together a few nights where everything works to keep going with just the one mask. However, relying on a single mask only to find production has stopped and I couldn't obtain a replacement or spares, I can only agree that building up a small stock of masks, alternatives, and spares is the position to get into if you can.
