Why dont machines come with better displays why dont they have pop up screens on the machines or as an accessory so one can view whats happening live instead of having to stick oxymeters onto your fingers

I agree--I think masks should have computer chips and a visual screen, so we can just punch up the display on the screen and see it all while its happening. By the time we get up, turn on lights, and mess with the CPAP display its all over! CPAP Masks need to take the next step up! I don't know what happened to your Avatar Graham--was there a Full Moon? I'd love to see an integrated system with oximetry, APAP and a decent user interface, easy remote comms and connectivity to PC for a reasonable price.

Would save a fortune in follow up sleep studies and put more patients in control of their own therapy.

One box of tricks could do the whole lot, wifi / ethernet / GPRS to upload data to your clinic / PC, oximetry, full data recording, in fact add a chest strap and you've got almost all the data you need to check for OSA, Centrals and Cheynes-Stokes in one box. The sensors our APAP machines have for flex allow breath tracking for BiLevel for those that need it.

After all, it's little more than a vacuum cleaner with some electronics.

By my calculations, it would cost about £60-£90 to build that into the machines, and just think of the savings with the data being sent by internet to the sleep clinics - they can see problems and call you in when needed rather than the regular check that just says yes, you are compliant...

In this day and age with todays tec how hard can that be, a bloody computer come monitor every person in the uk and flag up a phone call if set parameters are broken easy peezie lol
