  • Positional sleep apnea

Ok so our bedroom is about to get a whole lot sexier!

My husband has been diagnosed with positional sleep apnea, he's ok on his side, but not on his back. They advised a dental device, but is there any other options?

It's going to be very hard to have that last kiss goodnight, me with a nose mask him with a device in his mouth

    Suggestions appreciated.

    Hi Chrissie,

You might want to consider a positional sleep aid. For example a belt that keeps him off his back quite comfortably. Can be used with and without CPAP and will do great for mild OSA.

There was another device called NightBalance that isn't currently available in the UK; we'll let you know if/when it becomes available again.

      Devise???

Surely if your having trouble with sleeping on your side then a pillow behind you will stop you from rolling over on to your back. The thought of getting into bondage to sleep seems abit much? The mind boggles how far people will go to get a good nights sleep, I havent had a good nights sleep in years and still dont think that this will happen again!

My advise is to go to bed an hour earlier so you can have a kiss and a cuddle before you put your masks on and dental devices but for the last thing at night before the lights go out try holding hands

We've just started getting in some positional sleeping aids. A belt like that (we've looked at many and found this the best price-quality-evidence balance) keeps him off his back quite comfortable. Can be used with and without CPAP and will do great for mild OSA.
          Hi

One of the Nurses at the sleep clinic I attend suggested that I try using a tennis ball tied into an old pair of tights, you then tie the device round your waist . Quite cheap and probably worth a try before paying out for anything expensive. Good Luck
