I keep my bugs dressed thank you !!

Originally had pressure sore on nose, fixed by switching masks and rotating masks.
Headgear used to cut under ears, new sleepweaver straps sorted that.
Insomnia due to listening to machine, sorted by loose earpiece and the shipping weather forecast, plus rest of world service.
Leaks , not too bad, sleepweaver plus heavy tee shirt draped over face seems to help that and light in summer (when we get one)
Panic attacks - occasional ones due to nightmares about face hugging squid, not as often.
Other - thats the scary one.

Ok prep work done....goes back to vote

      Leaks

My biggest bugbear is when you awake in the night band the mask is leaking. Youre half asleep and the mask is farting!. Sometimes I can sort it quickly but If not I usually take it off before I become fully awake and take awhile to get beck to sleep.
Having to get up for work at 6:30 I need to sleep!!!!

Though on average I seem to get about 6-7 hrs sleep with the mask on.

i am a newbie to the equipment but the one thing that is bugging me already is waking up around 4 in the morning with the nose mask having slipped or i have wanted to itch my nose / face and pushed it off by accident and all i can feel and hear is a woosh of air coming at me ... i try to put the mask back on but cant cope with the flow of air and end up taking it off and trying to sleep without it but then i get scared now cos i know i stop breathing for lengthy periods of time ( well lengthy to me! ) so then i cant sleep!

Dont you have aramp facility on your machine? If I take it off in the night or just disconnect to go to the loo I always activate the ramp again.
One thing I have found helps is that as well as degreasing the mask daily I wash my face just before getting into bed.

i do have a ramp facility on my machine and i used it last night so that did make it better and i will try using make up wipes before i go to sleep tonight ... i think its just my face getting used to the mask as the skin around my nose is quite sensitive

            Thanks though.

Be careful using make up wipes, they usually contain a 'moisturiser' which leaves a greasy layer on the skin. This could cause even more problems with the mask slipping.

As said above better of using baby wipes, not antiseptic ones. Tesco do a value pack in a white packet , Johnsons do a similar type

I find that washing the mask (paying particular attention to the seal) every day with shower gel, and then washing my face last thing at night with liquid soap and water seems to work fine, even in the Summer. I also find that being clean shaven helps, and that a "designer stubble" can cause leaks.
If I get a sore nose, then I use a small waterproof plaster on the bridge of the nose, and this seems to help with that pressure spot.

hi andy, switching types of masks seems to help with the pressure sore. Having a fine facial growth i am enjoying the pilairo, mind the morning rip tho.
                    Remzzz help too.

I agree with Martin about switching masks.
I use the Resmed FX and the F&P Forma full face masks and switch if I get any soreness.
I think hospitals and clinics should supply 2 different masks.

Look like the leaks have it by a nose lol

I found that when I started using the quattro my face was a mess with sores but ones my face got use to it, which was about 2 months, I have never had a problem sinse with any mask. I still get the odd mark if Ive slept in a different position but other than that my face is fine.
