Just wondering if there has been any tests done to work out what the sleep ratio is without cpap? If I sleep for 8 hours without my machine how many hours or minutes have I had of normal sleep, my guess is around 3-1 (3 hours of no mask to get 1 hours sleep) anyone know?? Thanks

When I was diagnosed with sleep apnoea, the sleep tech reckoned I didn't get more than 2 minutes through the night without an apnoea, so never got a sleep cycle. from the shape of the results he felt I probably hadn't had a sleep cycle for years.
The "ratio of 1-3" is a pretty meaningless thing to guess. It will depend on so many things. Do you get some sleep (even full cycles) in at the start of the night and then the apnoeas ramp up as you get more rested - then it will depend on the individual and how much sleep they need, how severe the OSA is, whether the person gets the sleep on their side or their back...
