Quick Question!

If i adjust my PMIN and PMAX to settings im more comfortable with, then before my next appointment put them back to the standard PMIN 4 PMAX 20 will the clinic be able to see that i have done it?

Even if its only temporary until i get an appointment!

If the nurse you are frightened of is Wee Mary fr' Glasgow, DO NOT touch your settings!!!! Otherwise, time to decide who is in charge of your therapy. Do as you will and blind them with knowledge when they object - as they surely will because you are a mere patient and therefore not responsible nor trained like what they are. They know best, after all!

Although the nurse I'm frightened of isn't Wee Mary fr' Glasgow she is a menacing little figure.
I was looked at as though I was the Devil himself when I mentioned that I had changed the settings on my old machine. And when I plucked up the courage to ask if the settings on my new one would be the same as my adjusted ones the reply was "I will decide the best settings for you" followed by the earlier mentioned look.

I was just curious to know if the settings are adjusted would it show up on the smart card when i return???

You don't say what machine it is, you can probably look it up online e.g. System One REMstar CPAP Auto records the min and max settings

The Machine type is a ResMed S9! although my AHI is currently sitting at 9.1 I'm thinking maybe an appointment would be better.

Its ok peeps im sorted!!!! I phoned the clinic today! I took your advice TF i blinded them with my (your) knowledge and they are letting me adjust the settings and sending me an appointment out.

If you want to change them then do so! My complaint went all the way to the house of commons with my MSP and I have a nice letter from London stating that they cant answer my complaint as there isnt a rule covering it. Of course they advise against such action ( as stated by the cheif medical guy that I was summond to see in Edinburgh) He just said if you want something changing then call us and we will do it for you, but at 120 mile round trip would they pay for the fuel as well (I didnt think so) I havent used my machine now for months (MY CHOICE!!) as I cant be bothered with all the bloody hassel but I will get back to it at some point. Over the past few years it seems that the best judge is yourself and if you want to change settings or paint your mask or hang yourself with your hose its your choice! Who knows best, you or them

Note that on most machines, if they actually run the data through the software, yes they can see setting changes even if you change them back.

Best to make the changes with the cooperation, or at least acknowledgement of your clinic. You can usually present a good case for making the changes, so they shouldn't have too much of an issue with it.
