We have lots of topics on a whole range of subjects on the forum but the one I would like to know about is the ones that dont make it threw to dream land. You always hear the stories of people getting better with their problems and Joe Blogs is doing well but what about the ones that we dont hear from? The ones that put their mask on and quickly removed it with a shake of their head and a "Stuff that" followed by a quick return of equipment to the hospital with a "No Thanks" attached to it?
I guess we wont ever know about the ones that went into an uncertain night of apnea's, not unless we see it on the news or in the obituaries about a family member that died of a stroke or the lorry driver who just ran out of steam before he ran out of road. Why is there not much awareness on mainstream tv other than a vague documentary thats spends 2 minutes about OSA and problems but not about the risk of dying. I take my hat off and raise a glass to these folk not because of their Ignorance but for their bravery in even attempting to what most of us would now not dream of. If there is anyone out there who comes across this post, I would very much like to know how it's going and what drove you to the drastic measures that took you away from the fold of the face huggers and I would say to you....
To live is to breath, so take your mask
it's not impossible to complete the task
If it's sore then just use some creams
and join us in the land of dreams.
OSA could shorten your journeys end
be brave and give a chance my friend
we are all here to lend an ear for you
were not all motley just a caring crew
The first step is help it's hard to just say
we will catch you, I promise, along the way
our journey is uncertain like a white dove
but where all in this together, like hand in glove.............
Help is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength and sometimes it really can be "The Hardest Word to Say"
Graham......
