Sedation

Hi, as im relatively new to having sleep apnea, i wonder if someone would know - can you receive a sedative when you have sleep apnea ? I am due to have a Gastroscopy soon and am anxious about same and would prefer to be sedated if possible.

Sedatives

Yes you can but not sure about Gastroscopy. Is that the camera down the throat? When I was diagnosed I went to my docs for a mild sedative and it worked ok for a while until the world mask throwing championships took hold. You will have to see your doc about that. As for getting them during your Gastroscopy, the only person that can answer your question is the person doing it. I would imagine that you will get something for you to relax.
