  • World Mask Throwing Record

Not sure if this is the record but I would like to formaly put in for it. After a bad dream of a face hugger from the movie alien, I woke to me ripping my mask off and throwing it. Nothing unusual about that but I did it with some force and the mask minus the hose flew out the bedroom window, not funny when you have to go and retreive it in the night

My Record stands at 37 feet and 6 inches, beat that

    Does it count?

If you throw it out of the bedroom window of a jumbo jet at 35,000 feet so the total distance travelled is 35,000 + 37.5 + however far forward for a 500 mph trajectory with a fifty mph tail wind.

Though yu might not get to see the Guiness Book entry, the record would stand, surely?

But like the jumbo jet, what in he hell was your bedroom window doing that far open at this time of year?

I had thought about throwing one out of a plane window but decided that it was far too stupid an idea cos up there they (?) would probably not allow you to open the window. Having said that, do they have opening windows anyway?

You could of course throw one out of a window on to a passing long distance lorry, say going from Scotland to Brighton, would that count?

        I just love these conundrums

          Screens

Well I have tossed mine a couple times too--but no danger of it going out the window. We have screens on all our windows to keep bugs, falling leaves, tree frogs, etc on the outside. Can't imagine a house without screens. Mine would be full of screams--I don't like spiders crawling on me. LOL, Berneta

            Screens?

Screens not needed here in Scotland only bars to stop the haggis from escaping

              Ah! I remember!

I used to sail with loads of Scotie engineers - who wanted the air conditioning on before we got to Land's End. And I also used to sail with Indian and Philipino crews - who never wanted the air conditiononmg on. And me - Englishman - stuck between the two.

The Scoties were not happy unless they were wearing fancy knitted jumpers - thick ones so they couldn't move freely, it seemed to me. I'm physically frightened of the cold - they weren't happy unless they were cold - or full enough of whiskey not to know whether they were hot, cold or the right way up.

Do you still have those 'travellers' inns' just outside the city where a 'bone fida traveller' can get a drink on a Sunday? I never saw so much money going over a bar! Or whiskey moving in the opposite direction!

You can get a drink in Scotland any time of the day or night, 7 days a week and sundays is usually when the pumps run dry Yes the Inns are still around but theres probably thousands more now, I live in a small village and we have 2
