          Its just not fair!!!

After waiting years to visit this castle I finally get the nod from the Mrs that she's up for it so by 6am we set off only to be beaten by blizzards and heavy snow. So determined was I, we decided to try and go round but after being 5 hours behind the wheel and the snow getting worse I back down and turned the car around, gutted

I guess I will just have to look at the pics for a wee while longer

Would ya look at that wow

            Blizzard

Oh Graham, what a rotten shame. That was a long drive for nothing--but maybe you could try later in the summer and maybe the lady will feel like making the trip again. At least you had the sense to head for home and keep yourselves safe. Its a beautiful picture. Too bad so many Castles have gone to ruins--but there is something intriguing even about them then. Glad you are safe and back home. Its warm here today--and my lilies are up. Spring has finally come to the Midwest. xx Berneta

Thats a beautiful place, I have an idiot brother who believes that places look best in horrible weather and if you have to suffer to get there it adds to the experience !! I'm a firm believer that sunshine helps anything and that mountains are nicer with chairlifts.

Berneta, just imagining the damages of trying to get mozzie control with a gun!! Tiny lil bullets. Maybe a water pistol.

                Mozzies

Hi Martin, no guns for mozzies here--just cans of Raid or Black Flag Yard Fogger, Off Bug Spray to spray on clothes, Avon Skin so Soft Oil to rub on skin, or a bottle of Mint Oil to daub on. Now we have clip ons of Mozzie Repellent to put on hats or shirts-- and Neck Scarves that repel them. I don't think a squirt gun would help at all--but maybe a spray bottle filled with repellent and water might help. I have a screened section on our Deck along side our open deck--so I stay inside it in the early mornings ,evenings and nights. But now and then I like to take a moonlight walk in my Moon Garden, and need some deterent then. But I prefer to do that on breezie cool evenings when the fireflies are flickering, and the mozzies are somewhere keeping warm. Around here the little Vampires are afraid of the sun--so we are safe most of the day! Of course I suppose I could wear a Cross and necklace of Garlic to ward off the pesky big ones--but I think I'll just keep a can of bug spray on hand for the little ones. Gee--Never thought of it before, but a squirt of Raid might even keep the big Vampires at bay! LOL xxBerneta
