  • Tips for a red nose

Does anyone have any advice on reducing redness of the bridge of the nose. I have been using the Fisher & Paykel flexfit 407 nasal mask for about 4 weeks. The bridge of my nose has been scarred but the graze has now healed and dried up. If I increase my humidity rating of 3 upwards to say 5, will this help eradicate the redness on my nose? My next NHS Appointment is next week and they are considering trying me with a nasal pillows mask (such as the F&P opus 360 direct nasal mask). My reading is 12cmH2o. Is this reading too high for the nasal pillows mask? Which mask is best? Should I preservere with the Flexfit mask that covers my nose?

    woooo the bus

Lets deal with the nose first, this goes away on its own for most, my face used to be full of sores and my nose was a mess but after a wee while it just stopped as my face tuffend up to it. It will pass as you have said and will rarely come back as your face has got use to it. As for the other points you made I will leave this up to nose breathers.

Dab2899 when I had a big sore on the bridge of my nose from my mask the nurse in my sleep clinic told me to try Cavilon Barrier Cream, my nurse swears by it and it certainly healed my nose in no time. I also use it if I get a skin irritation from the mask.

Wouldnt a barrier cream soften the skin and make the problem last longer?

I can only comment on how it worked for me, it healed my sore in a couple of days and when I had a irritation sore on my chin it soon cleared up as well. I swear buy it,
