  • Where is jackieb?

On 15th June jackieb wanted information about masks, leaks and sores and didn't like the thread she was reading.

Where are you jackieb? Do you want information and advice?

I am still here just have been busy raising money for a hospice that is no longer subsidised by government or local councils. I have been reading different threads on this site and also registering for other forums in the UK so getting information all round and differing experiences. I am on the forum a fair bit but don't always make comments. The information I need is from people who have sleepweaver masks I have had mine about 4/5 months ish I try to use my nasal mask from the hospital at intervals but this is also leaking now (is it because it is over 7 months old and worn a bit, it is also causing a little lump to appear on the side of my nose is this normal) I have also addressed the sore situation and now have mask liners.which helps immensely so thought I would try on my sleepweaver and find it is leaking all over the place even into my eyes, I don't know if any of you have experienced this but I think the headgear has stretched to the point where I am having to pull it practically round my neck It is was a very comfortable mask at the start of my cpaping and I think it was through this that I coped fairly well.
With regards to my comment on the thread referred to I told you my opinion and now it is put to bed.

      Take it in

Could you not take your mask straps in abit with a few stitches? It seems that the art of needle work is dying these days lol

I am now using the Sleepweaver full time and find the mask component great.
What hasn't been as successful is the headgear, the layers of which were parting company when I opened the packet. I have another new unused mask that is just the same. In addition I found the side straps a tad short, the material caused sore areas on my cheeks, and it also tended to ride up and cut under the ears. If you are finding that it doesn't last that long in constant use then I am not perhaps surprised, one can only hope the manufacturer reviews the headgear as in my opinion it is letting down a radically liberating mask.
