I have dropped down to a medium and it has not slipped up into my eyes and also my unintentional leak rate, which the Resmed S9 displays, is 1.2L/min .
And I have got my bounce back yipeeeeeeeeeeeee
Keeping leak rate low as possible seems to work for me.

I found this mask comfortable to wear, but it constantly leaked, tired different sizes etc, in the end i went back to the clinic saw a different nurse who told me she would have never recommended this mask as my nose is too small!! (better than having a huge honker i guess) apparently this is quite a common.

I was measured twice for mine but it still didnt fit right or my face just doesnt fit the bill lol

    Headgear?

With all the fuss over this mask I ask my clinic to give me one and they did with a demo on how to put in on at night. It doesnt go on like a normal mask. I did try it for a few nights but I just didnt like the feel of it, it always felt like it was too small. The first few nights were ok but then it leaked like mad, so I have a new mask that lives in my draw

Here is the video on Sizing and Fitting, hope this helps

Thanks Tigers Fan I will have a look at getting one, see that they are also cheaper than the FX headgear. Such a shame they wear out so soon will be an expensive item over the year.

Fit a Quattro headgear - probably a size smaller. A Quattro headgear on a Quattro FX solves all the problems.

    Hi Folks.
Been using a med FX now for about four months supplied by my local clinic but the bottom straps have now lost the ability to stick to the velcro sticker securely, this point is where I always have it fitted, does anyone else have this problem.
I know earlier in this thread that Tigers Fan had problems with the fasteners folding over but where my problem is the straps seem to have narrowed and all the cushion part of the material has lost its ability to allow the fasteners to grip so after about an hour of wearing it it rides up my face so that the bottom seal is sitting on my lips and starts blowing a gale.

    Resmed FX

Hi I use the Resmed FX full face mask and it is pretty good

The softgel interior is good, however the top strap that goes over the top of your head has a tendancy to slip
Overall I would give this one 9/10 and the venting is pretty good too, its fairly lightweight

Just my opinion others may prefer other masks

My prejudice says the bellows action is due to the weakness of the headgear but I think something else is afoot here. Machine working properly? Mask valve operating freely?

What sort of movement are you talking about - 1mm or more?

I now think the skirt was inflating and deflating with my cold blocked breathing triggering the min flex. Tried it sitting up this morning and not breathing as badly I couldn't get it to repeat.

Is it me - I set the straps on the Quattro FX not too tight and just loose enough, so I thought, but when breathing in and out with a pressure of about 9-10, it does press ups on my chops like a set of bellows?

It was like that Who song "Squeeze Box"...

"Papa's got a squeeze box he wears on his face, and its playing all night, it goes in and out and in and out"

It's a crappy situation to be in but I suppose everyone has something they deal with and in the scheme of things, I suppose wearing a Darth Vader mask at night isn't a big deal
Darth Vader mask is saving money for halloween.....oh wait i'm going as a zombie or as i like to call it, my preCpap self.
    Two advantages to Cpap
1....I no longer need afternoon naps (though i miss the sunday ones)
2....Reduced level of bruising/pain as my wife no longer digs me with pointy elbows (she misses that a bit too and will occasionly poke me for old times sake)

Nothing perfect but keep on trucking

    1. We are all permanently searching for the perfect mask, the one that just goes on, fits, is comfortable and does not leak.
    2. All the masks are the perfect mask for someone - well, as near perfect as they've found yet. Well, all masks are a pain in the rear in one way or another, but the-one-for-you is less so than all the others.

I love my Q FX with a Quattro headgear but you may hate yours, if you get one. The only way to find out if a mask suits you is to try it. I know this is hopeless in pointing you in the right direction but hopefully will reassure you that you are in the same club as the rest of us!

    Good hunting!
