I've been using milton to disinfect the hose after washing it with water so you can tell from the smell if it's not dried off!
Sounds a bit more clinical than introducing a string and a cloth each of which would have to be washed and dried each time they were used and probably therefore aren't.

There is though something quite satisfying about folding a CPAP hose in half and whirling 3 feet of whooshing fun... until I was found out that is!

      Hose and Mask air drying

      Hi everyone,

I simply hang the washed hose over the shower rail to air dry and also air dry my mask each day. It works well for me.

There is no one who moves about from back sleeping to left and right sides more than me all in my sleep and I found the trial mask and my flexifit 407 coped extremely well with this and did not disturb my sleep. The key to success is the correct fitting of the mask so that the CPAP can work properly. All the best Sheila..
Im sorry but there are people who do move around more and Im one, Ive even woke with my hose stuck on my metal headboard of the bed while the rest of it was round my neck cutting of my air supply, I thought I was having an attack, Ive even woke up to find my mask on my leg??? with tight straps, dont ask me whats going off, all I know is if I could wear my mask while out and about I would beats breathing all the fumes.

I had a wet hose the first time. Blowing down it still didnt work so I used the hairdryer on cool for a couple of minutes and that seemed to work.

I found the nasal mask no problem at all until I started sleeping mouth open! Fitting is an obvious issue especially as poorly fitting masks will leak so badly and I wonder if a lot of the problem is setting up the mask to fit in the first place.

I have to shave regularly to ensure my Quattro fits and definately regular cleaning is an absolute must. The Liberty is another issue entirely where I am finding it more difficult to get a proper fit. When it fits it is comfortable and very quiet but getting that fit isn't so straightforward...
