  • Looking for Input on Sleepweaver

My nasal mask (Resmed Mirage Activa LT) works alright, but I’m putting up with some issues that will become very tiresome. Firstly with my head / neck shape the bottom straps to the mask slip up throughout the night and I start to get leaks. I have “MacGyvered” a chin strap (I’m cheap and won’t pay for something I can make) that helps, but now the result is the mask presses on the bridge of my nose and in the morning I am sore and have lovely lines indicating where my mask sits that stay with me for a few hours. And before you ask yes if I loosen the strap any more the mask slips. My current thought is to try the Sleepweaver mask. I’ve read a lot about it and it seems like a good option. I’d like to hear from someone who actually uses or used the Sleepweaver and get their hands on opinion.

Also I prefer to sleep on my side and this is part of the slip problem and pressure on the nose problem. My thoughts are that with a nearly all material mask it will be more forgiving. All input is welcome.

      I Chris,
      I have and use one.

      Upside:
      Comfortable
      Easy to scratch your nose
      No marks on your face
      No pressure points
      Can sleep on your side
      Lightweight
Mouth stays shut without a chin strap
      quiet

      Downside:
Bottom straps go over ear lobes and it is irritating, I have that sussed now
Can leak so needs tweeking during the might.

      That is about it really
It is as good as any other mask I have tried and a lot better than most.
      Hope that helps
      Lorraine
when it does leak it sings to you loudly and wakes you up

"sings" isn't quite the word I'd use! - think pinched balloon neck farty noise

Thanks for the info.. feel free to add

Hi all and thanks I didn't expect to get replies so fast.

Acebass I had read the thread you suggested I wanted to hear from actual users to find our what they know from experience.

BTW ElleCee glad you managed to get one as in your post in January it looked as though it would be difficult. Sing may not be the correct term, but it sure is funny.

And frankly if the "pinched balloon neck farty noise" is what I can expect I already get that sometimes from my Resmed Mirage Activa LT. Some nights my wife dreams she's sleeping next to a circus clown making baloon animals for the kiddies lol.

Oh and James @ Intus If you're reading this I just want to say I love the avatar.

I use my Sleepweaver all the time. I'd agree about all the above pro's. Certainly sleeping on your side seems easier and it feels nice and light. My mouth stays shut when I sleep (if it opens I wake up as it is impossible to breath with your mouth open). Most importantly i don't get the feeling of claustrophobia I get with my full face mask.
