Most manufacturers only carry a 3 month warranty (Hans Rudolph being a notable exception with 12 months) and recommend replacing the mask completely after 9-18 months. If you got three years out of it, you are in the minority and a lucky CPAPer. Or you maintain it very well. After 3 years, rather than swapping your worn out headgear, I suggest you ask for a new one from the clinic. As TF can testify, they probably won't stock just the headgear and give you a new mask altogether, which by the sounds of it, is overdue anyway.

If it isn't there yet .....
If they don't have it to hand when I ring in a minute, then it's time for a strongly worded letter distributed in a manner calculated to cause maximum embarrassment to as many involved people as possible. By 'involved people', I mean people who should have put the procedure in place that gets a spare part to a patient in reasonable time, on up the line to Westminster.
In the meantime, I'll call Resmed and have another one here tomorrow.
When is it time to throw away a headgear? When it goes so fluffy that the velcro can't hold on.

Strongly worded phone messages work, too!
I called them at 11.49 only to get a recorded message telling me to call back during their working hours, MOnday to Friday, 9 to 5. Maybe tone of voice rather than strong words but a few minutes later they decided they were at work after all - and my hedgear has arrived and they're putting it in the post for me.
So we finished up laughing ad joking about how to find SGH in the local phone book - it utterly defeats me!

My lot are already like a bunch of headless chickens - don't get in their way as they wizz and scurry up and down the alleyway. Not entirely their fault as the new unit was purpose designed to give them lots of exercise even if they were well organised.
Needless to say, the headgear supposedly posted yesterday failed to turn up with Postie this morning.
