  • Resimed M series C-Flex

    HI can anyone tell me what the numbers represent please. They are as follows:-
    >4
    7 = 2
    30 = 11

    7 = 1.54h
    30 = 3.00h

    It doesnt tell me what pressures have been used. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    You probably mean one of the black Respironics REMstar M-Series with C-Flex. Not a ResMed.

    That means that over the last 7 nights you clocked just an average of 1.5 AHI, in other words, just over one breathing event per hour left. Over the last 30 days, the avergae is 3. So you have improved recently from great results to fantastic results.

    The >4 number, I'm pretty sure means "sessions longer than 4 hours" which if true, means you are not using it all night every night. Perhaps one of the ResMed users can double-check this for me.

    So, when you use your CPAP, you are doing brilliantly. Try and use it all night to help with the remaining tiredness, and of course, check in other areas of your health such as thyroid function, that you actually eat energy-rich foods etc.

      Hi

      so the readings of the amount of AHI may not necessarily be accurate given the length of time the CPAP is used.

      i.e. if out of 7 days i only managed 2 days over 4 hours of use then that might not reflect what is really happening is that correct.

      Being diabetic I have had all other blood tests and all show normal so I can only assume it is the OSA that is causing me current problems with tiredness.

        HI

        I have looked on the resmed website and it appears to suggest the numbers indicated are not apneas but times the machine has been complied with, can anyone confirm this. It would seem to fit in with the sleep I had last night which was awful,

          I believe that the stats you have are usage data .
          The data on my A flex machine is being analysed tomorrow so I will be able to confirm this.
          Resmed S9 Autoset
          Resmed H5i humidifier with Climateline
          Resmed Quatro Fx and F&P Forma masks

            I have a Respironics REMstar M-Series and after 1 and 2 weeks I've taken my card in to the specialist, and it tells him I've been using it and what rate its run at. I have the machine for a month's trial and at the end of that time I have to use a oximeter overnight to find out if I'm having apnoeas still.

              I have arranged to go to my clinic today to have my machine looked at becuase 3.5 hours usage is not good by any ones standards no wonder I am so tired. I hope this solves my problems at last.

                    I think it went a little better, no dry mouth which was something and my wife noticed that i had kept it on till 4.15am so i guess there must be some improvement although it doesnt feel like it at the moment.

                          How long have you been using the CPAP?
                          I've been using mine for 3 1/2 weeks and my sleep has gradually improved over that time - last night I only woke once - though I'm only getting 6 hours rather than the 8 I think I need. I'm still waiting to feel better, but I assume that I'd have to get enough sleep at night to make a difference.

                              That's a long time.
                              What's happening at night? Are you taking the mask off and sleeping without it?
                              I nap (for up to 4 hours at a time, up to 3 times a day!) with the machine. I nap upright on the settee and that's easier because I'm not moving round and so don't disturb the mask. And I'm not sleeping on my side then either. I do this to build up the hours (and to get more used to the mask) - I use the machine all night but have spent quite a lot of it awake. The machine stats for my second week show an average of 9 hours compliant (or whatever the term is) per day - and this is only because of the "napping" because that week I was awake a lot at night.
                              I'd like to help but I'm not feeling better myself yet either - maybe an old hand could give better advice - Anyone out there?
