Hi all, another newbie question please!
I am in my first week of using a Brevida Nasal Pillows CPAP Mask with the SleepStyle Humidified Auto CPAP after being diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and am having mixed results. I took the recommendation of sitting reading for a while before sleep and find initially dropping off to not be a problem but after getting up in the night to use the loo I just cannot continue to use the mask. After putting the mask back on I feel that I cannot get enough air through my nose and that the air there is is uncomfortably warm so I end up gulping air into my mouth. I am trying to persevere but I have not had a single success yet so my nights so far have been 3 or 4 hours on the cpap (which is much better sleep than before) then back to how it was before diagnosis.
Apart from not getting enough quality sleep still, I am worried that I will still be suffering from all the ill effects of apnea. I am sure perseverance will be the answer but I am asking here just in case there are some great tips I can use to help me get over this problem.
cheers all.
