I don't doubt something is going awry and she definitely needs it looking at, just saying the sleepyhead data as she wrote it does not make sense. The PR 561 should not be capable of being in a bilevel mode as it is not a bilevel device. I would be very interested to see what the clinic find. Sounds like a software malfunction.Originally posted by Sleep2Snore View PostI don't know what is going on with her machine but if Dee says it is changing modes then Dee is noticing something. It may be going from one mode toOu the other or taking to long to respond when on APAP, I don't I had two machines that changed during the night and the first time they started it and stuck a guage on it and said it was ok. They said it couldn't change during the night.
I refused to take it back the second time and was provided right when they ran it on saturated test.
So I don't doubt something must be going on.
In any case Dee has to get them to look at the problem.
Dee your questions all sound very sensible and reasonable ...Hope they give you the answers.

It's all very odd!
Ask your questions Dee and make sure you get an answer.
The old machines I had were not supposed to change pressure on their own but they did! Even stranger to have a machine do something it is not supposed to do!
Did someone put the wrong software in?
Waits to see what they say, if they say anything!S2S - Sleep2Snore

My machine is telling porkies
Hi
I will take my computer with me so that I can show them what is going on as then they cant say I am making it up.
In the last 3 weeks I have asleep over 13 hours a day which isnt good so this means that I am losing 3 days a week to being asleep. I would love to be able to sleep a normal amount hours a day so that I am awake more than I am sleep.

My machine is telling porkies
Hi
Recently I havent been feeling good as I am so tired most of the time. Last night my AHI was 6.2. I want to sleep but at times i cant sleep. It was nearly 1am before I could go to sleep. I will tell then all the problems that I am having with feeling tired all the time. I havent noticed anything change in the medication so far.

You may have more issues than we know about or have forgotten about.
6.5 is a little high, better if you can get it down below five or even down to 4.
What was your AHI before treatment?
If you get it down a bit you should feel better, provided you don't have insomnia?
If you do that takes will power and being very strict with yourself.S2S - Sleep2Snore

My machine is telling porkies
Hi
Yes to Insomnia have suffered for many years but it isn't as bad as it was when I was in my early twenties and into my thirties. Once I went nine days with only 4 hours which was just before I started treatment for my depression. I have been on anti-depressants since May 2000. In that time I have only been off them for 10 months in nearly 14 years.
I will take my computer with me as I havent been able to get the paper so that I can print everything off.

My machine is telling porkies
Hi
My appointment went ok she looked at the data and noticed that I am having lots of central apnoeas so she has asked for a full sleep test. I have told them a few times that I forget to breather at times even when a wake. Hopefully the sleep test will be on the next six weeks or so. I'll have come off CPAP for 5 nights before the test that that's fine.

Hi Dee
Looks like they are getting to the bottom of your troubles. If you do have centrals then you will need adaptive servo ventilation (ASV). They look the same as a normal CPAP but are 10x the price so hope your clinic / GP will fund it.
I think your case is a proof in point though that third party software is not to be relied on. Let us know how you get on x

My machine is telling porkies
Hi
Hopefully they will fund it as it might help with the daytime sleepiness and unrefreshed sleep. How does CSA/OSA work with DLA as currently I am on middle rate care the only worry I would have is that they will use the doctor's report saying that i can walk between 300 - 400 metres which isnt true it more like 20 - 40 meters. So I could lose my high rate mobility.

Theoretically if treatment for OSA or CSA is working then you should not have any disability, therefore on its own would not qualify for DLA. However, many people with OSA or CSA have other medical problems which I am assuming you must have if your walking is so limited. Am no expert in this area but would not think it would influence it much. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be able to advise.
