    hiya ali n welcome
i noticed that as i got more used to my cpap machine, my energy levels went up and this helped my weight loss, but i do go to weight-watchers so im sticking to a weight-loss plan. more energy=more active=better weight-loss

TF, You do make me laugh

I did lose a little bit of weight during 6 months of using cpap, probably about 5 kilos, but not enough, so have just had (9 days ago) a gastric bypass. So far from doing a 2 week pre op diet and 1 week after surgery I have lost 18 lbs. I can even take a nap now without snoring when not using the cpap. I will not go overnight without it though as I don't want my health to deteriorate any further because of the aponea. The years of going untreated have caused me to have a heart problem.
It is all on the way to being fixed now so I am very happy.

            Most excellent news!

            Hi Lorraine

            Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic!

I am so delighted it is working out for you!

Member Puffin had a gastric op and lost a lotta lotta weight and chucked his machine away after a while. When you don't have OSA anymore, I guess CPAP is redundant!

Rest easy while you recover - hope it is not painful.
