strange question

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever asked but with the beautiful weather its been very warm
I was wondering if people know of a way just to cool the air slightly rather than being so warm! it's not affecting me in anyway just thinking of ways to make it more comfortable!

one thought i had one to have a couple of ice cubes in a small dish like a ramkin where the intake is on my cpap.

oh and i'm not using my humidifier at the moment either

any thoughts?

I have a ceiling fan in my bedroom which I cannot cope without.
If the air I breathe is warm I feel like I can't get any air into my lungs, even though I know full well I am getting more air than without cpap.

I have thought about putting ice into the humidifier and may well still do that if it gets much hotter.

someone suggested putting ice cold water in the humidifier, but not tried it yet.
is it better to not use humidiofier in warm weather??? still new to this too.

Humidification

Hi All

The humidifier is there to put moisture into the air your breathe - warming it is a 'side effect'. Winter, summer makes no difference to your need - or not - for moisturised air. Summer can, as we all know, give us very humid, muggy, air even without CPAP.

I'd put the ice cubes in the humidifier chamber if the design makes that possible - crushed ice if not! I suppose you could put water into the chamber in the morning and the chamber into the freezer so you have a nice block of ice come bedtime. Don't forget to leave room for the ice to expand as it thaws.

Oh i meant to say I have a humidifier but i'm not using it, however like you say I could have it connected and have the temp off and put Ice as has been suggested

A more expensive solution

Hi All

We had a similar discussion last summer, about how to cool things down. The complete solution is, of course, to have air conditioning - makes for comfortable sleeping temperatures whether or not you are on CPAP.

One of the contributors bimbled off to B&Q and found 'portable' units, quite powerful enough for a bedroom, at a very reasonable price. The unit came complete with a window plate to get the hose exhausting outside the house - a plastic affair, one size fits all - with a bit of trimming, no doubt.
