Heated hoses

Hi There,

My hose came today and i feel kind of excited about trying it out tonight, sounds stupid doesnt it?

Just a last bit of advice, it came with connectors on the end im assuming one for my mask and one for the CPAP, do i use these or take them off and just connect it directly to the CPAP and mask?

Heated Hoses??

I too would luv to have some heat..There's a small hole for escaping air that blows on my hands, I think they will get frostbite!!.FYI for ppl using nasal pillows..I'm about 2 weeks into using CPAP..i washed the nose pillow and apparently put it back in Backwards and kept wondering why my eyeballs were getting hurricane force wind.Sometimes woke up and found whole thing in the bed with me as it had slipped off..arrggh..

cpapusa.com used to carry the heated hoses but don'r seem to anymore. If this is the case (not just a search glitch) Sleepzone.au is the only place I know of till James gets his approval for them. Expensive from where-ever, though.

I believe TGA/CE approval is nearly over. Only 6 acres of prime Amazonian forest had to be sacrificed in order to get the paperwork done We'll miss the winter well and truly but heated hoses will have their use throughout the year. We'll get on to the "second skin" the moment we have them.

Heated hose

I found a site for a heated hose and bought one for 125 usd..Pricey!!But..If ya think about having to sleep every night with CPAP it will be useful..When it comes in I will tell yall the site..Or when I get back on my e-mail I'll tell yall..Says pretty much"One size fits all"..Had to laugh the other day..i saw the lung doc that did my sleep study..Told him about the heated hoses,so he tells me I need a sleeve like a tiger striped and he will buy me one for christmas..Ha!Ha!

Rainout??

I haven't gotten my heated hose yet..I have noticed a severe bubbling noise past few nights that keeps me awake..Is that what yall are calling "Rainout?.And how do I stop it??I tried draining it back into the machine..very bothersome..any tips appreciated and thank everybody for being here..Knowing other ppl have the same problem really helps!!!!

It will stop as soon as you use your heated hose, just hang in there till it arrives. There is no way of stopping the gurgle apart from that, unless you stop using a humidifier

Maybe that gurgle is due to a water trap in your hose. Try keeping your machine lower than your mask so the hose runs downwards back to the machine, preferably without any rises at all.

Avoid putting the machine on the floor, though, so you don't get dust particles sucked into the air inlet.

Aussie hose!!

Yall were right on about the heated hose..LUV it!!No more gurgling!!!!Very pricey but well worth it..Only one I found that fits all is the aussie hose..Maybe REsmed and the othe manufacturers will jump on the bandwagon..Sure am glad I'm not the only "Hosehead" around..Thanks ALL!!!
