  • Resmed 12/24 converter

Does anyone know where I can puchase a 12/24v converter for a Resmed S8 escape in the UK.

I've looked on the internet, but I can only find it on US sites.

    Hi enfielder2000,
Can I ask what are you trying to do, that way we possibly could advise you on another source route?

        Hi Derek,

You'll need a quality Sine Wave Inverter

From our CPAP battery pack page:

ResMed S8 Series: 100-300V DC to AC Power Modified Sine Wave Inverter* of at least 150W in case of no humidification. With a humidifier, it should be a Pure Sine Wave Inverter and have a power rating of at least 200W. Alternatively, ask ResMed (0800 917 7071) for their DC-12 Converter and make sure it can plug into a cigarette lighter socket.
        * As available in High Street electrical shops such as Maplin or online. Make sure the Wattage is sufficient. Most CPAPs require at least 300 Watt.

Derek, are you wild camping with no power point, or a pitch with power point is which case you don't need anything just your normal power cable.

If I remmeber right your machine needs the inverter to run off a 12v battery.

          Have a read here http://forums.cpap.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2

            James

Forgive me as I'm an electrical ignoramus, are all of the inverters shown suitable.

            Barry

I had already read these threads, but they didn,t help, see my comment above about my state of understanding of electrical matters

O.K. Derek rather then messing around with simple inverters and cables, prehaps one of these may suit you better. http://www.viasyshealthcare.com/prod...odDtl&prodID=1

At least its easy to use.

Do check with ResMed as I don't want to be the one causing your machine damage but from the manuals etc. this one looks fine:

                :: Modified Sine Wave :: DC to AC Power Inverter (12V - 230V), 300W :: DC to AC Power Inverter (12V - 230V), 300W - . DC to AC Power Inverter (12V - 230V), 300W

(I'm not an electrical engineer either...)

You can get them direct from Resmed UK.
I spent ages looking for a Resmed dc-12 part no. 33942
so I found a UK number and called them to ask where I could get one, they said I could get it from them for £49 + £5 for next day delivery

                    thankfully they accept credit cards.

                    Their number is 01235 862 997 and it's option 2 for sales
