  • Oximeter (Pulse)

For a while now I have been worried about how low my pulse rate goes when Im recording at night. I thought I had a problem as my heart rate was down in the 30's while sleeping, does anyone else have this problem? Ive been told that for very fit people its not uncommon for it to go lower than this. I wouldnt class myself as very fit.

Ask a doctor if you're worried, but I know mine is at the high end and about double that. I'm rather unfit though!

      My Surgeon

Strange question said my Surgeon while operating on me lol

I was in theater on thursday having an op and I like to stay awake to see whats going on so while my sugeon was sewing me back together I asked him about resting heartbeats and he told me that it can drop as low as 20's and still be fine. His explanation was if a car is fine tuned it will take no effort to purr but if its aint it will cough and splutter and have a hard time ticking over. Nice sugeon lots of blood hahahaha

Sparticus, you've reminded me of my last carpel tunnel op. I was not given enough local and felt most of the op - even counted the needle going in and out as the wound was stitched, much to the delight of the op room staff.
