  • Maximum Hose Length

    Hi,

I have a Respironics series one and was wondering if there is a maximum hose length that you can use ?
I have two 6ft hoses that I want to connect together but remember seeing o another thread ( can't find it now ) that 10ft is the maximum you should go.

    Thanks,
    Nigel.

If you can find a joiner to connect two hoses, there is no reason why you shouldn't. The machine may react marginally slower but I doubt you'd notice it. The other thread was about adding a humidifier and folk thought that would be OK, too.

Twelve feet has a lot of tangle potential. Have you tried a hose-lift to solve whatever is your problem?

I'm using a 10 ft as my machine is a bit further away from the bed than I'd like (and on a high chest of drawers) - no problems.

I used a free standing humidifier chamber(without the heating unit) for a bit , it allowed 2 hoses to be used, one input one output. I was trying to lower noise a few diff ways. Cant remember what it was called but it looked like a flat plastic closed in tray. Had to get it from the states as it didnt seem to be available in the uk.

Sounds like an exhaust system for a car
