Is there a target BMI when OSA is no longer a problem.

Not a magic number, no. Some people can carry a bit of excess fatty tissue around the neck but have strong windpipes not prone to collapse easily. Others with the same amount of fat there could well have severe OSA. Each person is different.

Both for OSA and generally, the best target is sub 25. It relieves the body of a lot of stress and other negative issues. Your heart will love it, it helps avoid diabetes etc. It makes exercizing easier and so on. But depending on where you are at now, that can be a difficult goal so perhaps rather than thinking about a BMI of 25, at least get a positive trend going where bit by bit it's going in that direction and not the other way.

Note that there are also people with OSA who are of a healthy weight to begin with. It could be their lower jaw impeding breathing or just an anomaly in windpipe tissue. Key is that everybody is different so one statistic for Mr X could mean absolutely nothing to Mrs Y. Each will have to go in a direction they are comfortable with.

It probably took you years to put it on, so to remove it in a year isn't all that bad. Congratulate yourself on every 2 pounds lost, your doing much better than most.

I have spoken to people who were able to ditch the mask for good after successfully loosing all excess weight. Puffin in the forums here did it with an op, most people of those who also achieve this feat do it with exercise and dietary changes. It takes great determination and discipline, probably even more to stay at the weight you end up at so if you already are doing this well, you should be proud of yourself.
