  • diagnosed with csa?

Recently diagnosed with Cental Sleep apnea. It is moderate to severe. I don't have any symptoms of sleep apnea. Don't snore or feel tired when I wake up. I am strong as always and alert. No real memory problems and no naps during the day. In fact I could drive at night and never get tired. My sex drive is way normal for a 50 year old man and my disposition is not angry or anxious. Could the test be wrong since I really didn't get a good night sleep with all the wiring hooked on me during the sleep test. In fact I got only about 4 hours of sleep. The two problems I do have is a bad back from work and I had many injections and medications given to me such as steroids and advil. Also I have an ulcer due to these medications. I also been stressed out since out of work due to these injuries. Gained some weight and just over my BMI for my height. Should I go to a cardiologist for my heart or a pulmonologist? NEED ADVICE?

Central sleep apnoea is quite a different beast from Obstructive sleep apnoea but as far as I understand, it should in theory still lead to similar daytime issues.

If it was diagnosed with a multi-channel respiratory sleep study, including the nasal cannula, it will have been very accurate so I don't doubt it is what they say it is.

    Which treatment did they recommend?

My family doctor hasn't discussed it with me in detail since he had called me up to give me the results. Will be going to his office but my case worker for the insurance company helped me schedule to go see a top sleep doctor-pulmonolgist. My doctor did say it was moderate to severe. Also case worker and doctor agreed I may have to see a cardiologist and if needed a neurologist. Any thoughts on why I developed this.
