  • Started Well but!!

I cant seem to get good nights to join together.
I am beginning to realise that I cant just "full into bed" like I use to but I need to prepare myself for sleep.
Any ideas how to do that

Routine Is Needed - Just Give Yourself TIME!

    Hi silvercarper,

You are so right when you state that things have to change, no just dropping off, no dozing on the sofa. If I need a kip in on Saturday afternoon then its got to be lie on the bed or move the machine
I have found that I relax more if I can read for a short while before sleep just as I used to before CPAP - the Liberty mask makes this very achieveable
If you have a head cold it will be more difficult but use a FF mask instead

Perhaps listening to some relaxing music may help you before lights out?
Hopefully thise may help - but come on guys and girls with all the experience log in and post up some replies for this person!

    Take care - cheers!

      Hey Silvercarper

Something I found helpful was to put some olbus oil near the filters which helps you breath easier. You could also put some lavendar oil near the intake which would help you relax.

I'm trying to get to grips with sleeping at night with a full mask although I've noticed that on occasions I'm removing it during the night. Some nights the mask fits like a glove and I don't feel uncomfortable and other nights it leeks air and I can't get to sleep even when I haven't changed any strap settings.

Also I don't put everything back in it's bag ever morning so all I have to do is slip on the mask before going to sleep and hit the on button.

I also give myself a good talking to which helps

      Hope you sleep well.

        Darth

If I had been diagnosed 2 years ago I would have been wearing a "Darth" boot for my broken leg and a "Darth" mask.Would have really looked the part.

Hey sounds like you've got the beginnings of a fancy dress outfit here Woke up with an itchy nose last night and once I move the mask I lose any comfort I had and the whole lot comes off

              CPAP Familiarity

Hi. I would say that the diagnosis of osa is a frightening one. But, if you consider the benefits of cpap, it'll be an easier go of it. Just make friends with it as soon as you can. Get a good, consistent, relaxing bedtime routine going, and figure out what your particular way of winding down is. Good luck, and good sleeping!
