  • Update since arriving in London

I arrived last Tuesday morning after an aborted attempt to get here on the Monday night - I deliberately take day flights across the ocean because night flights are a nightMARE for me. Unfortunately, our plane couldn't take off and we had to sit in the airport all day and take off in the evening.

I had left Toronto in a huge hurry - actually overslept and had to race to pack my CPAP machine and get to the airport - there's irony for you. But arriving in my flat in London...guess what??? I had left my darn mask in Toronto! I phoned for them to send it to me fastest possible way and had expected it yesterday since it arrived at the delivery office around midnight Thursday (I knew it couldn't come on Good Friday...). Anyway it didn't come and now I am away till Tuesday night so it will be at least Wednesday before I can use my CPAP again.

I'm completely lost with how to approach things from here on but am formulating a plan. Got several health issues need to discuss with the doctor's office and get some referrals started - if apnoea were the only thing I'd be laughing! In the meantime, I can't find the Canadian doctor's notes and without those it's no point going to the surgery. On top of all this, my dad arrives here on Thursday and with him visiting and needing to keep as much work going as possible (rolling my eyes) I am wondering when I can get to the doctor! 'Twill all work out of course.

BUT I have been sleeping without my CPAP since Sunday night and oh my, am I feeling the difference. The mask might be a pain in the face but sleeping without it shows me just how much it was helping me. I am stroppy, trouble getting my thoughts and words together sometimes, sleepy during the day, want to nap at night, and my head is fuzzy and tight. By the time my mask gets here it will be about a week and a half without it. Sigh.

    Onward and upward, then!
