Hi Had my cpap machine about four months now suffering terribly with a dry mouth when using it, have a humidifier but this seems to make little difference anyone advise futher.

A chin strap can help keep your mouth closed. Also check that the humidifier is actually working properly, that if you turn it up to max it empties more than half over 7 hours.

Am using a full face mask and the humidifier is emptying itself over night ( about 7.5 hrs in my case any further help would be apreciated.

With the humidifier working as intended, I can only think of closing the mouth to get rid of this excess dryness.

Daytime hydration may also improve it. If you're not getting enough water in during the day, this will play a part during the night.

I agree with James, I think keeping your mouth closed with a chin strap may be the only answer if you are drinking plenty during the day. One thing to check on is that as OSA makes you wake up in the middle of the night to go for a pee, some people stop drinking after tea time to try and stop this. This is a wrong thing to do as it is the OSA that is making you pee not the excess liquid. Make sure you drink normally before you go to bed so that you are well hydrated.

Im wondering about a chin strap just worried about how comfortable they are i guess? Are they easy enough to wear and then to put the nasal mask over your head still as the straps go around the back of my head?

In all fairness, comfort is subjective and what one person finds really comfy, the next one will be hugely annoyed with. But they've sure come a long way and the vast majority of people get on with it perfectly.

We do two chin straps, both which have just been updated without the pictures being updated. They're both now blue, the Premier hasn't changed a lot but the Deluxe one is not the same fabric and style anymore.

They're not overly expensive so worth a try. The straps are only thin and won't significantly interfere with the mask's straps.

Yeah i guess comfort is subjective really, you get used to things to i suppose, i didnt think the mask was overly comfortable at first but doesnt bother me as much now.

Do you know when you will have stock of the Deluxe chin strap?

The white one has been dicontinued and replaced with what they still call Deluxe, just a different approach, more like the Premier. We have those already in stock but as it's not properly represented on the site, we've left it unavailable.

If you want one (the not-displayed-blue-Premier-like-but-Deluxe) I can quickly enable it so you can order.
