    Hi Rob,

    Welcome to the forums.

Are you new to CPAP or an established user?

    Do you use a humidifier?

What type of mask do you wear?

    Do you have any allergies?

Can you breathe through your nose OK usually?

Answers to these question may yield a better insight as to what may be going on.

        Hi Jim,

See this link to Fisher & Paykel for extensive research regarding humidification:

At a recent event they said that on autopsy they found that CPAP users with humidification had healthy noses, those without had a layer of dead cells in their upper airways.

If you can avoid condensation, humidification always makes things easier.
