  • How bad did you feel?

Im still waiting for the tests/diagnosis to be done but i reckon i have had it bad for 2+ years now. Slowly getting worse. Really does make me annoyed half the time, get up just about, no energy, lacking get up and go. Does memory loss come with sleep apnea because mine has got rediculously bad. I used to have a fantastic memory, now its terrible. I forget such smple things. Again this stresses me out. All seems to be making me more stessed and in turn just depressed.

Just hope things get sorted soon.

From my own experience, I am newly diagnosed, but the issues have been with me for some time, I find I am increasingly forgetful, no energy, my get up and go, got up and went, I suffer migraines a lot now, I would choose frustrated rather than annoyed. I also get irritable and have little patience, can be snappy at times. I am amazed at what sleep deprivation can do to someone. I find myself drifting off no matter what I am doing at the time. I was so frustrated that on evenings when I used to entertain, I would start swallowing Pro-Plus just to get through the evening, not a wise move and even that would only keep me awake for an extra hour if I was lucky.

I am in between treatments, but hope to get sorted soon.
The sooner you get your tests the better, then at least you will know exactly what is wrong and get the relevent treatment.

    Good luck

      Hi James,
Most people on this forum will know exactly what you are talking about!
My memory seems to have suffered as well but that may be due to age (or alcohol) killing the brain cells I actually use.
Some days I have forgotten what I was going to look up in the time it takes for me to get to the google page.
There is light at the end of the tunnel though.
I won't tell you that CPAP will cure everything as it has different effects on different people but I can tell you you will feel 200% better!
Don't expect miracles overnight (although some people describe it as exactly that) but persevere and things WILL improve dramatically.
Remember that you do not suffer alone, there are many many people in the same boat, al ot of whom use this forum and are only too pleased to help if you have questions or need to get something off your chest.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

          Hi jamesbh

This is all classic symptoms as you describe it.
I remember it all to well, tired, forgetful, no so much depressed but fed up being so tired and no one understanding. Staying awake was a real problem when not active.
You will feel a lot better once you have been checked out, it will not cure everything, but you will feel very much better and have a lot more energy

My Doctor was a fat lot of good, he said "NO one will die of Sleep Apnea"
          Wrong!
The professor I saw even phoned him up to tell him how serious things could be. The surgery now has posters up about it. At least he listened
I was found to have it in the early days, so finding a Doctor to listen was even hard!

Thankfully there is a lot more understanding about it and its affects now in the medical field.

Just wait, you will feel like a new person

          Take care.

Getting really over the top of me now. Stardust arrived yesterday, setmyself up last night, got it out of the puch to switch on and was already on Wore it anyway just incase. Wasnt sure if it workedright or not so rang then up this morning. Looks like ive now got to do it again because the memory chip would of run out of time.

Now today, i get another fine through the post from DVLA for not sorning one of my Vehicles, I got one earlier this year which was my fault. This one i am 99% certain it was SORNED on time. They are now saying i never did it. Thing is, the first one i still havent paid because i just cannot remember to do it. Had a final notice on the 9th september and then its court and i still cant remember to pay them If it goes to court how do i stand there and say i cant remember to do it? Its times like this now i really wish i had the gutts to drive off a cliff

              hello

keep your head up james it aint easy i was diagnosed 3 week ago and am struggling with my mask but its bound to be better than nothing!!!!!

you are best off going to court if you tell the dvla about your sa as an excuse they may use it against you if you aint informed them earlier!

why not try what i do (because my memory was terrible) when you get a letter of importance or have somthing important to do leave a post it note on your car keys or on the radio of your car then you cant miss it!!(just it helped me lots)

              chin up

                Hey mate...

i know what you mean on the memory thing....

Things will improve i promise you... one thing ive started doing is using the reminders on my fone..... or a list somewhere you will check without fail... for example emailing yourself the night before....if you check mail everyday....

                sending texts to myself.....

i understand its frustrating about the machine... but you are further along the stage than some on here incudling myself my appointment isnt for a month and thats just to see the consultant....

i am positive that in a few months you will be one of the many on here encouraging me to keep going

                be encouraged
