    Hey! Puffin

    Good to see you again!

I finally figured how your numbers are so at odds with mine! You're not 6' 4" tall and probably never wore '8' on a rugby shirt!

Hello folks, just want to add my tuppence re weight loss.
I gave the same advice to several overweight friends and I mean OVERWEIGHT.
I suggested they set the countdown timer on their mobile or watch to 5 or 10 minutes and go for a slow walk. When the alarm beeps, turn round and walk back. Do this every day, Don't change your eating habits at first just don't eat more than usual.
Gradually the distance walked increases, they feel better for it and either walk faster or increase the time walked. Some included a little jog in the walk.
This helped them become more active and wanted to do more, they then improved their diets without prompting by firstly removing the obvious bad stuff like chips, crisps, cakes etc. mainly because they saw these as self pity comfort foods which they didn't need any more.
So far almost everyone of them is healthier, more active and has a positive outlook. Some haven't lost huge amounts of weight but have a healthy glow that they lost years ago and want to move forward rather than find an excuse to stop or go backwards.
I for one now cycle 5 miles to work every day and 5miles back in all weathers and am proud to say enjoy it although I've only been 3 stone overweight at max.
I suffer from SADS and OSA which made me a sofa slob with no go at all.
I hope that CPAP will help with this as I get the hang of it.
LSW is an extreme solution and not one I'd contemplate for anyone except those near death due to obesity.

            :Steps down off soap box!!:

sure slim, sure is money loss!

I started with sure slim and hated all the food on it. I did lose 3 stone in 3 months and then could not stand the excess of lettuce and seeds (both of which affect ibs!)

I have tried every diet going including Paul McKenna and they work to start then plateau happens and when only eating 800 calories a day, you cannot drop any more

Do not waste money on getting blood tests done fore sure slim as most results come back the same for everyone and the diet plan is basically the same too.

Weight watchers is probably the best out there but I again lost 3 stone in 3 months and then stayed the same.

My doctor recently gave me reductil which worked the first month and then I put on 5 pounds!

I gave up smoking after 20 years with no problem so this is not a willpower thing and I can and do say no, but I am the only one in my family with this problem (my daughter is size 6)

So easy for people to say, eat less! just ask Puffin (congrats by the way, wish I could afford the op my trust won't pay!)
