  • OSA Sufferer Dies At Work

Suspected sleep apnoea sufferer, told many times to sort out sleep as he kept nodding off on the job, dies on job whilst doing routine operation:

A brewery technician who died while carrying out a routine procedure had been told by his bosses to see a doctor after repeatedly nodding off at work, an inquest heard.

Mr Klincke, who was 6ft tall and weighed around 20 stone, had been referred to the sleep clinic at Royal Berkshire Hospital for sleep apnoea – a condition that had caused him to fall asleep at work on several occasions.
Again, highlights the importance of sorting out your sleep issues. If your car shows symptoms of disrepair, you wouldn't leave it 20 years. If your roof is leaking, you wouldn't leave it 10 years. Why then do people leave their sleep issues for so long?

    Hi James,

I agree that sleep problems should be investigated but the one line in the article that jumps out to me is:

"However, Dr Hunt said his sleep problems had not caused his death in this instance."
