Not sure if I'm in the right part of the forum for this, but hope so. I was due to have an operation last week using general anaesthetic, but they would not do it as they were worried about the sleep apnoea and would only do the op when an high dependency room was available. I now have to go in tomorrow to have the op as a room is available but the hospital has just phoned to say it all depends whether the anaesthetist is happy to do the op and they will have to check me tomorrow. Just to reassure me, has anyone out there had an op using general anaesthetic whilst they were suffering with sleep apnoea and had no problems? I appreciate everyone being cautious but I have now been worked up into a state of fear!

I know that they are being careful and should be putting YOUR best interest first. But I always get the feeling that they are looking after their own backs and being over careful all the time.
