  • Nose Bleeds

I have been using my machine for just over 2 years now. And I am a mouth breather and always have a good night's sleep. However now and again I'm getting nose bleeds. Could this be due to the air flow and pressure of the CPAP machine, or could it be something else? Many thanks

    Good Morning

    Thank you for your post.

Can I kindly ask which machine and mask you have. Is the machine fixed or auto and set to what settings?

If you are concerned then please have a chat with your doctor.

Thanks for your response. I have a Resmed Airsence 20 with a F30i mask. I set it to mask fit which automatically goes to my setting of 11. Which was set by the hospital. Graham

        Good Afternoon

        Thank you for your post.

I would suggest calling your hospital / doctor that provided your mask and machine and ask if they think the nose bleeds are related. It maybe the mask or the pressure on the machine. It may be neither but is worth having a chat with them.

Hi Kelly. Just to give you an update. I have spoken to the respiratory nurse and the nose bleeds are probably due to the cold weather and drying out overnight. So they are sending me a dehumidifier for the machine and a new mask. This information might be useful to someone if this issue crops up again. Many thanks Graham
