Thanks Kelly. I did have a diagnosis and sleep test done (and it was confirmed i had moderate S/A) - I cant find the documentation which is annoying and the ENT hasnt really responded. I had it done about a year ago, and it wasnt really that bad at that time. But recently i just feel as if i am constantly tired. I mean sometimes I am in a 121 meeting with someone on TEAMS/ZOOM and end up dozing off momentarily when the person is talking to me. That cant be normal! So i downloaded one of those phone apps to see if i can could get some good measures of what is happening, although i think the phone apps are not too accurate as they are just giving a rating based on audio. So i think you answered my question, i think you need to measure AHI properly with a sleep test or a CPAP machine. Excuse my ignorance, i need to bite the bullet with the machine but i guess its just the price point that has put me off as you can expect.

Good Morning
Thank you for your post.
I would suggest contacting your GP or the ENT to see if they can provide you with a copy of your sleep test results. For you to be able to purchase a CPAP machine you would need something in writing that states your diagnosis for sleep apnoea, and that you are suitable for a CPAP machine.
Once you have a copy of your sleep test results, then please email them to us at [email protected] and then we can check the document is sufficient and walk you through the CPAP machines and mask if required.

Without a polysomnograph or CPAP machine, closest you could get to knowing your AHI is by calculating your ODI (Oxygen Desaturation Index). You can do that with something like Contec Blood Oxygen monitor but I think the best option is to order an in-home sleep test.Originally posted by Sleepcyclist View PostI wanted to start measuring AHI, do you need any machinery - didnt understand how i would record an apnoe event etc.

Hi. I've been on CPAP for 18 months. My AHI was 18 prior to treatment. Until recently, my ahi was well controlled below 5. For the past 3 month it varies from 2 - 15. I tried raising the pressure to 12cm after discussion with sleep clinic, who do not seem very interested, but it has not stabilised. Mask fit is 100% most of the time. Duration of use does not seem related, scores vary whether I use it for 4 or 7 hours. Also seems unrelated to alcohol use and there's no change in my medication or body weight. I see some post's refer to data I do not seem to have access to, such as mapping of apnoea events throughout the night.I would welcome any suggestions.

Good Morning
Thank you for your post.
Please can you advised what CPAP machine you have - Ie Resmed Airsense10 auto CPAP machine and what mask you have.
If you have a fixed pressure machine then your requirements might of changed and may need to be re assessed by your sleep team.
Do you have the correct mask for how you breathe - ie nasal mask if you breathe through your nose only or a full face mask if you breath through your nose and mouth (ie if you snore)
How old is the mask and is there any wear and teat to the cushion or headgear?
Please check your connections from the machine to the tube and tube to the mask are firm, and there is no damage to your tube.
If you can advise the above then we will see what we can do to help you.

Hi, Kelly, thanks for your reply. I have a Philips respironics DreamStation, set at 12cm, recently upped from 11. Its fixed now, havingbeen on variable. Ive tried most masks and settled on full face mask with memory foam cushion as I do snore, most mask fit stats 99-100%, so I don't suppose there could be much leakage elsewhere? I also change the mask regularly so there's no chance of wear and tear.

Good Morning
Thank you for your post.
As you have a Philips Dreamstation CPAP machine you can create an account on the dreammapper.com website and link your CPAP machine so you can view your data - https://www.philips.co.uk/c-e/hs/sle...am-mapper.html
You might need to upload the previous data from the SD card and then generate a summary report to see what is going on. You can then share this report with your sleep clinic and see what they advise.
