  • Sleep apnea and diazepam

Hi. I am sleep apnea sufferer and CPAP user of over 2 years. I also have Crohn’s disease from 18 years old (now 35) and suffer from anxiety due to years of bad guts and toilet searching. Thankfully for now I am in reasonable condition with crohns except for massive anxiety when needing to fly. My last 4 flights I have booked, paid for and not got on. Everywhere I read it says not to mix sleep apnea and diazepam. However I recently visited my gp for an alternative as I want to be able to fly once or twice a year. He tells me that at a low 2mg dose twice before flying diazepam will both take the edge off of the anxiety and not mess with my ability to be able to breathe. So my question is, are there any sleep apnea sufferers that have used diazepam and how was it? Is it safe to use as long as the dose is low?
    Thanks for your time!
