  • Bad days- even on CPAP.

Now i've been on CPAP for about 2 months now - 100% compliance and the machine says AHI is now 1.8 rather than 60+. The thing is i still get really bad days even on CPAP - most days are now pretty good (and even on a bad day - it's not as bad as it used to be).

But I was wondering - do others have this. I'm not talking about feeling a little unwell - but at times almost back to the old headaches, tiredness and ache (but as i said never quite as bad as pre cpap).

I do wonder about sleep debt.... (ie 15+ years with rubbish sleep has to hurt).

    Hi Chelsea
I know just what you mean, some days after being awake for a few hours I start feeling sleepy again, but no where near as bad as before. Most of the time now, I feel right, if you know what I mean. Interesting term "sleep debt". Could it be that we are feeling the "normal" day to day tiredness, which everyone feels. Is it that we have to relearn what this is, as we have been so tired for so long?
    Regards and Good Luck, Barry

I've been wondering the same. All that oxygen deprivation must have had some impact on the organs. How best to undo that probably takes a more holistic approach than CPAP alone. Some kind of immune booster may help.

Having said that, non-SA people get bad days like that too!
