    Hi Charles,
Well done, Long may it last!
What mask are you using? Is it the sleepweaver? or is there another cloth one I don't know about?

          Lucky you indeed!
Out of interest Charles, how did you end up with a Sleepweaver? Were you issued it by a hospital?

not a random pick, looked at all the masks on internet
and just felt that the plastic ones would be hard/uncomfortable
              and the cloth one soft
              simples

                Good for you.

Sleepweaver is a great product, I just bought another (old one getting a bit raggy).

Have an in-joke when that hair product advert comes on TV (Lor-eal I think.) As the catch phrase is issued I speak over it

"Sleepweaver - cloth we're worth it"!

My sleepweaver has seen better days too. I cannot get it to seal at all.
Shame because it really was good.
There is still something stopping me from throwing it in the bin though.

I wouldn't chuck it out - keep the connector at least, it may come in handy.

Is yours worn/fraying on the hovercraft skirt bit? Do you reckon it gradually distorts from the daily washing? Or is it the headgear won't quite draw it in? I say that because my old one was reborn when I put on the new headgear.

Mine was beginning to bobble and fray on the skirt bit. I've bought a new one, it's lasted a year.

I think over-washing is a problem for these, so rightly or wrongly I don't wash mine every night now. Also when new the fabric is quite crinkly, the new one has only become comfortable after a few washes and a couple of weeks of use. Seal improves over time until a point then it gets worse as it frays.

The old one is still usable, and is in my spares kit, along with all the "didn't like" masks. Haven't thrown any kit away yet, just sterilised it and stored.

I wash the sleepweaver a lot less than the gel one and always hand wash it, also i agree, the new headgear made it into a whole new experience.

Lorraine, you cant bring yourself to throw it away because its pink.

After using and hand washing my ten and a half month old Sleepweaver every day I swapped to a new one last night and compared the stats over the last week. The new mask was immediately snug and when breathing in sharply to test it on a pressure of 10 I could draw the cloth in, which the old one the night before I couldn't - suggesting that either the seal or the cloth would have been leaking. From the readings there were other factors at work causing leaks I suspect, but basically the new mask out performed the old one. The good news was that the old mask lasted four and a half months longer than the 6 months the manufacturer says they will last. The old mask also, whilst gradually becoming worn, didn't let me down when tottering towards retirement.

Sorry - we seem to have swapped this thread to another subject!
